Nicole Griggs (Age 17)
Nicki is currently 18 years old and just graduated from Lake Travis High School in Austin, Texas. She has been dancing since 2nd grade and started competing under the direction of Heather O'Hara at the age of 9 years old. She has danced on competitive teams for 8 years and has also done 2 years of drill team at Lake Travis High School. Nicki has earned numerous awards at many regional and national competitions and in 2011 was privileged to perform the opening number with her high school drill team for the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes Christmas Spectacular. Most recently she won 1st place in the 11th and 12th grade division of the Vista Ridge Dance Championship for her modern solo "Hide and Seek" choreographed by Ashley Stanton and was 3rd overall in the senior division of Dance Showcase for her tap solo "Power" choreographed by Heather O'Hara. Outside of dance, Nicki excels academically with a GPA over 100 and is also plays both piano and guitar. While in high school, she has volunteered in a community program for Hispanic adults learning English as a second language and has also traveled to the Dominican Republic with the Markarios International Ministry to work with children in an education and development setting. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with friends and family and loves to snow board and travel whenever she gets the chance. Upon graduation, Nicki plans to attend college and major in health sciences.
